I recently re-acquired another copy of Anthony Merrill's
The Rammed-Earth House and thought I'd better scan it before I lost this one to another scoundrel.
Here are a few illustrations from this long out-of-print tome. This winter we'll scan the chapters and
post the pages on flickr.

Hello there.
I am really glad to have found this blog with so much information on rammed earth construction. I am a student of architecture from New Delhi, India and is presently working on my final year design thesis. Well, as a matter of fact we haven't been exposed much to rammed earth and its use, but while working on my thesis, I came across the term and did a bit of research on it. Well, I am using it in my design proposal now, but I am facing some trouble with the execution of my final drawings (because of lack of knowledge on rammed earth). I was trying to find a link to contact you but failed, so decided to comment here. Can you please tell me a way where we can communicate in a better way.
Thanks,
Irfan Haider
